Jennifer James and the News

The much sought-after Daily News endorsement in the City Council in Brooklyn went to Yvette Clarke's former fund-raiser Jennifer James.

Here's what the News said:

"A local political activist, lifelong Flatbush resident and daughter of Caribbean immigrants, she has broad support in a diverse district. Also welcome is a promise to donate any "lulu" pay beyond her salary to charity."

Last year, the News endorsed Yvette Clarke for Congress, while the New York Times backed David Yassky.

In the Council race this year, the Times is backing Jesse Hamilton, an attorney and Democratic district leader. Clarke is backing another candidate, Mathieu Eugene.

Opp Researcher (not verified) says:

leave it to the News to support the person closest to lobbyists (she got planty of dough from them for Clarke) and able to spread cash to their Brooklyn editions.

InTheKnowBrooklyn (not verified) says:

This endorsement contains two inaccuracies, Ms. James neither has lived in Flatbush her entire life (583 Washington Ave in Prospect Heights) nor is she Caribbean (she is Costa Rican, mostly). This is BS and the Daily News knows it, its just another way they try to manipulate City Politics.

SHE DOESN'T EVEN LIVE IN THE DISTRICT SHE SEEKS TO REPRESENT, DOESN'T THAT COUNT FOR SOMETHING????
