Celebrity Stumpers: Scarlett Johansson Supports Barack Obama, Don'tcha Know

Scarlett Johansson was born and raised in New York City, but you probably wouldn’t know it from watching this video, in which she stumps for Senator Barack Obama. In the clip, filmed at Carleton College, a small liberal arts institution in Northfield, Minnesota, Ms. Johansson speaks to a group of students in an almost pitch-perfect Standard Midwestern accent. Amid the “yuh knowas” and “makun’ likes,” she recounts the first time she met Mr. Obama, someone she calls “an incredible thinker and mind.” The 23-year-old actress was apparently so “starstruck” by the encounter that a slightly unusual greeting tumbled out of Ms. Johansson’s mouth: “I love your wife!” The presidential hopeful returned the compliment, she tells the crowd, by “paddun me on tha hayd.”

And we should care because???

WOW- now that's an incredible observation. Sure glad to know someone's out there covering the important issues.

I think it's wonderful that young people are so involved in this campaign! Senator Obama is great! He is the only person able to beat McCain. He can also be credited with getting young people excited about this election. My prayers are with him.

We should all care. That's the message that comes with Obama 'Empathy' that should be embraced by young and old alike. But now that the writer's strike is about over some will return to that protective t.v. bubble and wait on the program writers to distract us from reality and tell us how we should think and feel again. great.

Not so much in love with her story, but I am shocked (and pleased) that she is supporting Obama. I truly hope he wins the election. He is the only candidate worth looking at.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

It's good to know actors are faking accents to deceive large audiences to vote for a candidate.

How does such fraud help society?

Anonymous (not verified) says:

thats grrrreat i love thats she is all for obama.he is a great candidate and i wish him the best and my prayers are with him and his family!!!!!!!!

Joe Mamma (not verified) says:

Didn't you know that the public in general are stupid and we fall for fake accents and stuff like that? It's only the Elite condescending Liberals who know what's good for us. That's why they want laws to only apply to us which they are naturally exempt from.

I can't wait for B. H. Obama to get elected and try not to screw everything up like the peanut farmer did. He'll is just as inept. Maybe then some more people will see that the agenda of the left is really the road to destruction for this country. Borders gone. Identity gone. Country gone.

I know I'm a lunatic and I am scheduled for brain surgery. But I can't get it here in Ontario Canada because health care is price controlled so there are very few surgeons who work now since there is little profit in it. So I'll have to wait another 3 months for my lobotomy. Yay for socialized medicine!

Scarlett Johansson is my favorite actress. But since I'm a mental case that doesn't mean much and I guess neither does she.

Incase you are unaware, the midwest 'accent' is the non-accent that most newcasters are taught to use as it is one of the most easy to understand. So, standard midwestern accent is incorrect.

It's great that she supports Obama, but really, all of the talk about the email communication between the two of them really makes one question her motives in regards to Obama. I really do hope he wins this election, but I also think that people should just keep some things to themselves.

It's almost like this woman is completely clueless. I can almost hear the fake, "Marilyn Monroe, Betty Boop, boop-boopy doo affectation. "I'm engaged to Obama". A word of advice to Clueless Johansson. He's married, happily. First of all if you like him soooooooo much(boop-boopy doo) then remember and respect his wife and daughters. If you want to help his campaign, talk about his stance on healthcare, taxes, war etc. Please tell me that you are not stupid enough to beleive that all of your thinly veiled flirting won't be used against the campaign in the future. As for Barack Obama, I know you need campaign funds but you might want to handle this twit differently.

ade (not verified) says:

Ilove this beautiful lady.Guess why?She loves obama and she's not hiding it.Whether it's a decent kind of love or not is irrelevant.GO scarlett!Every heart should be like yours.

Lucy (not verified) says:

Many celebrities are endorsing Obama as he has a campaigne of "change" .But for a man who is supposed to "change" Washington, he hasn't even have seen to his grandmothers poverty first (years ago) before he tried to clean up Americas back yard.

Why is his grandmother still living in such abject poverty if Obama is the hero he makes out to be?

It would have taken just a few of his American dollars to help her build a better shack.

OBAMA SHAME ON YOU
