Giuliani and GOP Chairman Discussed Rudy 2010, Carbo Stands by Mondello

Rudy Giuliani and his top aide, Anthony Carbonetti met with the New York State Republican Chairman Joe Mondello last week for a little chat about state politics. The meeting took place at the office of Giuliani Partners, at the invitation of Giuliani, according to Carbonetti.

I asked him if the subject of Giuliani for governor came up, since it's been the subject of some recent speculation.

"Of course it did," Carbonetti confirmed during a telephone interview yesterday. "But Rudy was like, 'Lets worry about getting through this cycle.'"

Mr. Carbonetti continued: "Joe said, 'I'm with you if you want to run.' You know, the usual stuff." He added, "Rudy said our main focus is winning all the local races we can and getting John McCain elected. And we'll look at all that when the time is right."

When asked about the meeting, a spokesman for the state party, Matt Walter emailed, "We don't have any comment on that story."

Carbonetti said the meeting took place to assuage Mr. Mondello's concerns after stories in the New York Post and Daily News and New York Times speculating that Mr. Giuliani was hoping to replace Mr. Mondello with Mr. Carbonetti.

"We met with Joe Mondello last week to assure him that I was not trying to become state party chairman," said Mr. Carbonetti. "Rudy felt so horrible, as did I, that that rumor was out there that we called Joe and said, 'Why don't you come in.'"

"So we met with Joe to assure him that we're going to do everything we can to assist the party this year, and next year and any way to help Joe. Joe's our guy."

If Rudy ran for Governor, he will not campaign in New York City but will focus his campaign on winning Florida. Florida, NY, that is (population 2,700).

What a joke that would be, Rudy running for Governor. We who lived with this tyrant will be all over him and will be joined by ALL 1st Responders. Remember his rating on 9/10/01. Rudy will be luckly if he's not blown out of the water in that election.

Rudy, enjoy your life there is more to life than running for office.

But if you were to RUN AND I SAY THAT IS A VERY BIG IF. MAKE SURE YOU HIRE GOOD PEOPLE AND SEND TONY TO BARTENDING SCHOOL, SO HE COULD LEARN HOW TO MAKE DRINKS AGAIN. Because he does not know how to run any type of campaign. If he truly was your "BRAIN" in your run for president. BETTER GET A NEW BRAIN.

Nobody but nobody knows Anthony Carbonetti within the ranks of the New York State Republican Party. I don't think the man has ever been north of Westchester County line.

Anthony Carbonetti has already shown and proven his failed experience by involving Rudy in a losing national election. Most Conservatives knew Rudy (I mentioned it many times on this blog) would never, ever get to first base with his failed Presidential Campaign.

Carbonetti is another losing pipe dream for NY Republicans - he is another "Rudy Bootlick" and put Rudy into millions in debt from the last campaign, A true leader should have known that Rudy was Liberal and would never make it as a national leader.

NY GOP needs a real Party Building leader not another "Losing Boot Lick."This love affair thing with Rudy has got to fade and true rebuilding must begin within the NY GOP.
